![]() This scene is cut short by terrible screams and a haunting feeling that perhaps all is not well in the Fleming household. ![]() After the heebie-jeebies have been established cut to a scene of Gordon sitting alone in his truck as he fawns over pictures of his newborn and watches her and his wife as they play out front of their home. Distracted by ghastly rooms and one hallway in particular, Gordon hears a voice call out to him but is snapped back to reality by partner Phil. ![]() The film opens with a lightly humoured tour through the asylum led by Bill Griggs (a cameo by Paul Guilfoyle) as Gordon and Phil get their first glimpse of the aforementioned mad house. Hazmat Elimination Company, an asbestos removal company run by Gordon Fleming (played by Peter Mullan) and his associate Phil (played by David Carusoe), are the first to start on the renovation of the building. Kirkbride Mental Health Hospital, built in 1871 is being reclaimed as a town hall and renovated after being closed down nearly fifteen years earlier in 1985.The synopsis below may give away important plot points. Meanwhile Hank finds ancient silver coins and disappears. However, in Session 9, Simon finally appears and he discovers that he is evil. Mike listens to the tapes and none of the personalities wants to talk about Simon. Mike finds a sealed box tagged with the word "Evidence" and when he opens, he finds nine taped sessions of the patient Mary Hobbes that had multiple personalities (The Princess, Billy and Simon). Phil does not like Hank that has stolen his girlfriend Mike is a law school dropout and Jeff has fear of the darkness. Gordon and his partner Phil need to bring more workers to accomplish the schedule, and Hank, Mike and Jeff join the team. He has a baby girl and has some personal problems with his wife Wendy, calling her on his cellular. you will not be disappointed.The owner of a small asbestos abatement company, Gordon Fleming, needs to work and accepts to remove the asbestos of the abandoned Danvers State Hospital, a mental institution that is closed since 1985 in one week. it is a film which leaves you with that "creepy feeling", for lack of a better term, after you've seen it, much like the Exorcist or The Omen, although the devil plays no part in this one. i have hyped this film to many of my friends, some horror fans, some not, but they all have enjoyed it, and many have watched several times. refreshing in this day and age of remakes and video game adaptations. it is a film that makes you think, rather than just watch. the location for this picture could not have been better, as this structure, apparently, is actually considered haunted. ![]() David Caruso, of mostly TV drama fame, headlines this troupe of talented actors through a miriad of twists and turns, and creepy segments, which leave you guessing, and second guessing yourself throughout. shot in an abanodoned mental hospital, this tale is one of an asbestos removal crew, hired to make this old structure safe for possible sale or re-use. although it was released on DVD and VHS, very few rental locations hyped it, or even stocked it, for that matter. this picture, i belive, was a made for HBO picture, so was not widely received, or viewed by anyone outside of HBO subscribers. if you have not seen this picture, then you are truly missing out on a horror/suspense masterpiece.
